Learning Goals for February 7th to the 11th!

Math:
Measurement! We will be using nonstandard units of measurement to measure the length and height of various objects. 
Using a ruler to measure to the nearest inch.
Review of double digit addition and subtraction.
Hundreds place, expanded notation of a three digit number.
Counting mixed coins
Spelling:
Please see this weeks homework for your child's spelling words.
Phonograms: ey, kn, gn, igh, ew, ui, eigh, dge, ei, si
Language Arts:
Friendship... what does it mean to be a good friend?
Contractions (do not... don't)
Vowel sound sort for /o/ and /u/
Writing... comic strips continued
Phrase: If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!
Social Studies:
Review earliest people
Conquistadors... Who is Christopher Colombus?
Science:
More on the Earth, rotation, revolution
Review of the solar system
Artist Study:
We are going to study two artists this week and compare and contrast their lives.
The two artists are Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky.
